My Latur, Green Latur

Latur is drought prone District. Latur was supplied drinking water by railway wagon in 2015-16. The district has irregular rainfall as well as minimal forest cover of 1.50%. Therefore in monsoon massive plantation drive was undertaken including various innovative themes like Vatpornima , Shravan, Raksha Bandhan, tree-anniversary and other festivals and occasions. Under My Latur Green Latur initiative more than 40 lakhs saplings were planted.
