The people of Latur follow different religions such as Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, and Jainism, and their culture is largely a mix of all of these. Most follow traditions and customs that are specific to their religion. The annual Shri Siddeshwar fair that is held at Latur is quite a popular one. The Gangaram Maharaj Samadhi draws thousands of people from all over. The first Latur Festival was organised in January 2011, and owing to its huge success, it has become a regular feature every year on the cultural calendar. Dance and music are important to the people of Latur. Folk music and Natya Sangeet are the most popular forms of music here, with folk music comprising of many types such as Bhajans, Bhaleri, Bharud, Palane, Gondhal, and Abhangas, among others.The most popular dance forms practised in Latur are Dhangari Gaja, Lavani and Povadas. Bidriware, Kolhapuri chappals, Kolhapur jewellery and Paithani sarees are special crafts made by the people of Latur.
