Under the guidance of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the “Up Scaling Aapda Mitra” scheme has been implemented on a pilot basis across the country since 2016. Under this scheme, a team of volunteers (Aapda Mitras) is formed to provide immediate assistance during disasters. Due to the successful implementation of this initiative, local administrations have received significant support in disaster management.
In this context, 300 Aapda Mitras from Latur district will be provided with specialized disaster management training. The training will include college students, NCC/NSS volunteers, NGOs, ASHA workers, Police Patils, Kotwals, Anganwadi workers, Home Guards, Police personnel, Maharashtra Security Force members, private security guards, and government/semi-government employees.
Training Duration and Benefits:
1. Free 12-day residential training
2. Special kit for emergency rescue operations
3. Insurance coverage of ₹5 lakh
4. Official certificate
Eligibility Criteria for Aapda Mitra:
1. The applicant must be an Indian citizen and a resident of Latur district.
2. The applicant must be physically and mentally fit.
3. Age must be between 18 to 45 years.
